Mother of five, grandmother of three, Ilene Meckley was a consultant in one of the nation’s best-known direct-sales companies for 13 years before starting her highly successful language coaching and training business. During those 13 years, she personally recruited over 650 people and built a team of thousands, becoming the cumulative top personal recruiter, earning President’s Club recognition 14 times and Hall of Fame and Woman of the Year honors from the company she represented. Having the desire to help others become successful, she began teaching seminars to consultants from other direct-sales companies. Ilene has created eight CDs, authored three books – including one inspired by her accident, “Highway of Success: Proceed with Passion”– and developed a series of tools that are helping people all over the country become successful.

On May 23, 2005, Ilene Meckley was traveling home from a seminar when she was hit, head on, by an 18-wheeler. She spent nearly six months in hospitals, fighting for her life and her future. She had broken virtually every bone in her body, and had to undergo eight surgeries and countless therapy sessions before she could walk again.

With two roads from which to choose, Ilene could have let her tragedy divert her from her zest for travel and her love of motivational speaking. But she chose the other: a road of recovery, driven by her desire to get back to her passion of helping others to become successful. Even in her most challenging days in the hospital, she never let a nearly severed foot or broken bones shatter her dreams. That passion for life and determination to survive are what has made Ilene one of the most successful speakers in the nation.
