Would you like a new consultant or hostess today?

Every day we find ourselves in situations where we are talking to new people-in lines, on planes, at the park, and, in fact, everywhere we go.  Do you find yourself talking to people about the weather and other ice-breaking chitchat, wishing that you could just figure out a way to share what you do in your business?  Here's good news- with just a few basic phrases and questions,  you can be "out the door" prospecting in just a few minutes.  Trust me, that's what I've done, and it works!

The skill we are working on right now is what I refer to as "bridging".  By "bridging,"you are building a connection from a current thought to a new thought that is developed from the topic of conversation.

Are you ready to practice the skill of bridging? Remember practicing is doing. It's like learning to drive- the minute you are behind the wheel practicing, you are driving and moving forward while you are out there practicing" Let's start with shopping (or window shopping) can be profitable.

Shopping Can Be Profitable

Did you ever realize shopping could lead to earning money? Just think, shopping, can be important to the future of your business.

Are you going to the mall or store today?  While you are at the mall and standing in line at the register, you can be sharing information about your business.

Here is how to start your conversation:

Are you from this area originally?  I have my own business with .......... I love to ask people I meet if they have ever had an experience with (your company) locally or where you have lived in the past. I know you are not standing in line to hear all about my business.  I love to share all the time and do know that it is important to follow up my sharing at an appropriate time.  Is that something you would enjoy?  Would you feel comfortable giving me your name and phone number so that I can share more with you at an appropriate time?

Be prepared with a small notepad, pen , and business cards.

The Person You Meet Today Could Be a Star on Your Team Tomorrow

There are many other situations when you will be talking to people such as at the mall, post office ,bank, and other stops in your daily routine.   Compliment people about their customer service skills to make them feel special.

Here is how to start your conversation:

I noticed how great you are working with your customers.  I love working with people too.  I have my own home-based-business. Have you had an experience with (your company) locally or where you have lived in the past?  I am always looking for people to join my sales team.  Have you ever thought about doing something alongside your family and other activities to earn extra income? This business is a lot of fun.  I know you are not working here today to hear all about my business.  I love to share all the time and do know that it is important to follow up my sharing at an appropriate time.  Is that something you would enjoy?  Would you feel comfortable giving me your name and phone number so that I can share more with you at an appropriate time?

One very good place to have some business cards available is in your wallet.  Every time you hand someone money, your card will remind you that by sharing and caring you can give the people you are meeting an OPPORTUNITY! Remember that you are rewarded financially for giving other people an opportunity.  Helping someone become a consultant or a hostess is a gift for them from you.  Your company rewards you for that. Sharing is offering.  Caring is being happy with whatever they choose to say in response to your sharing.  Hearing someone say, "no thank you", will never keep you from success.  Not wanting to hear a no will.
